Spring 2007

We decided to blend the wall color to the marbleized tile in this bathroom, so I chose "Copper Mountain". This then offset the light cabinetry.

The fabric on the roman shade and cornice are a matching textured material with soft vines and open flowers running through it. It is a beautiful material that cannot be captured in photos.

This faux silk fabric is a dramatic contrast with the newly painted "Tawny Port" on the walls.

The shade is motorized over the tub so a remote is all you need to operate it.

It's hard to believe this is the same bathroom.

The family lived with the builder's selections and white walls for several years before deciding they wanted to do a total makeover. By then, the kids were older and they were ready for a more elegant look. The contractor removed the back wall to create more space, and an oval window, which was centered in the new space, replaced the old rectangular window. A new vanity and new fixtures stand out against the gold faux-painted walls. I had the window treated with a custom glass insert to ensure privacy. Instead of using fabric, I then adorned the window with bronze beads and decorative tassels draped over copper swirl holdbacks.
