Family Rooms and Sunrooms
|
Family Room - BeforeThe client moved her old furniture to her basement and we started from scratch.
Family Room - AfterThe walls are painted a deep gold, the fireplace was painted "mannequin cream", all the upholstered pieces are custom, and the window treatments in a plum stripe frame the windows perfectly. The swags drape over the arch window to block sun glare while watching TV, but still allow natural light to come through. "Linda, we are really enjoying our rooms! I still don´t feel like I am in my house! Thank you for helping us to get the home that we have been waiting for." -- Laura M, Somerset
This fun playroom is in a walk-out basement that was just finished. Each cushion was made to fit to cover new built-ins that have separate sections for toy storage. The primary colors are repeated in the cornices. This is a playroom that the kids won't outgrow!
With the volume ceiling and expansiveness of this family room, a lot of fabric at the windows was a must. Not only did the black with gold leaf fabric prove to be a wonderful contrast to the pale gold walls, but we also used a thermal lining to insulate as well as to absorb sound throughout the open rooms. Three-inch diameter custom rods in a black with brushed gold really stand out. The arches still provide tremendous sunlight.
